Colorado State Fair – August through Labor Day

Colorado became a state in 1876 and before the Colorado flag flew high, the State Fair was already earning its place in history. In 1869, approximately 2,000 people converged on what is now Pueblo for a horse exhibition; and from that meager beginning was born the Colorado State Fair. The Fair continues to call Pueblo home, and in fact, has only cancelled once during its entire history. Colorado State Fair has developed into the largest summer event in the State and offers families a fun, educational summer vacation! During the 11 days of the fair concerts, rodeo, free attractions, carnivals and other exhibits can all be enjoyed alongside fantastic fair food too!

Balloon Classic – Labor Day Weekend 2014

This annual family-friendly tradition of the Pikes Peak Region is held at Memorial Park and features dozens of balloons scheduled for Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings with a Balloon Glo® scheduled for Saturday and Sunday evenings. Each year a variety of concessions are available and entertainment is provided during each event as well as arts and crafts booths, ballooning, and many more children based activities.
